The latest technology in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Our technology

Technology has brought about many changes to the way in which we can to treat our patients. Here at Honesty Dental Care, we’re constantly reviewing and evaluating the latest products. Here are some of the latest technologies we’ve adopted in our quest to give you the very best possible service.

CEREC

CEREC redefines high-tech dentistry and we are specialists in its use.

With multiple uses, it can replace silver/amalgam fillings, restore broken teeth and improve ‘imperfect’ teeth all within a single visit. CEREC creates an immediate optical impression (or 3D image) of your tooth, from which a virtual model of your tooth is created. This is then processed via a high precision computer-aided design and milling device to create strong, tooth coloured ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty and function. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. Not only that – this means no impressions, no temporary crowns, no second injections/appointments and you can even watch your very own crown/inlay being made whilst you wait. For more complex restorations we have access to the latest off-site CAD/CAM technology.

Laser treatment

Laser treatment has advanced significantly over the years. And whilst it’s a specialised treatment, it’s also an everyday tool within our practice helping to promote healthy teeth and gums.

We use a revolutionary dental device called MD Waterlase that combines YSGG laser energy and water (a process called Hydrophotonics) to perform many traditional dental procedures with less anaesthetic. Infinitely less invasive, it provides a more precise form of treatment that conserves healthy tooth structure. It’s also excellent at resolving soft tissue problems as well as treating teeth – especially in children. And for those not lucky enough to have well-shaped, healthy-looking gums, laser gum recontouring is a procedure that can correct gum problems and improve oral health and smiles. As a simple procedure, no time off is needed to recover. And whilst gums may be sore shortly after the procedure, normal painkillers are enough and the results are worth it.

Diagnodent

Tooth decay is something we’re extremely keen to prevent.

In addition to traditional oral examinations, we also offer Diagnodent. This is a diagnostic painless laser tool that has an accuracy rate of over 90% in diagnosing early decay. It means that remedial action can be carried out without delay, limiting any further damage and improving the outcome for the patient. We feel it’s an absolute must for children.

STA wand

Injections, whilst essential to our work, are not always popular – and in extreme cases cause much distress.

This is why we’ve looked into a solution that delivers local anaesthetic with minimum trauma. While many people believe the needle to be the cause of their discomfort, it’s typically the speed in which the anaesthetic is delivered. The wand is essentially a revolutionary computer-controlled device that ensures the flow of the local is slow and steady and therefore comfortable. The result? Newly confident customers who are now totally at ease receiving their local anaesthetic. If you want to know more about the STA wand then visit the website.

Endoret

Honesty Dental Care is a BTI Accredited Centre. This means we are specialists who have been specifically trained in the use of the BTI Implant system and Endoret. Endoret is the most advanced system for obtaining platelet-rich autologous plasma from patients’ own blood. Endoret is used in dental surgery to promote healing and regeneration of bone and surrounding soft tissues in post-extraction wounds.

The process starts with blood collection from the patient one hour before the procedure is scheduled, the collected blood samples are then processed for extraction of growth factors present in the plasma. These growth factors are then used for filling and sealing the wounds left behind after the tooth is removed. The benefits include faster healing time, less post-operative discomfort, reduced chances of infection and preservation and regeneration of bone.

3D scanning

As part of our continuing commitment to being at the forefront of dental technology, we have invested in a CBCT scanner.

This device is mainly used for 3D scanning for implant placement – a service which used to be provided at an outside facility – so we are delighted to be able to offer it in-house.

3D scanning within the practice gives us access immediately to accurate images with minimal patient exposure. From intra-oral digital scanning to full CBCT we can now offer a comprehensive holistic approach to treatment planning. The scanner revolutionises many aspects of pre-surgery planning for implant/surgical and restorative cases.

3D images are used for diagnosis, bone assessment and precise location of vital structures for proposed implant work, difficult extractions and complex endodontic procedures.
